Kreuth, Germany – March 24, 2009 – Shiner Olena (Smart Chic Olena x Miss Shiner Dear) and Andrea Fappani bested the field in the Open Futurity Division of the 2009 NRHA European Futurity at Osterbayernhalle in Kreuth-Rieden, Germany. Poland’s Katarzyna Roleska owns the Smart Chic Olena mare that recently showed at the 2008 NRHA Futurity in Oklahoma City last November. Shiner Olena and Fappani marked a 219.5 to take the lead going into the clean-slate finals. Whizoom (Topsail Whiz x Dun It The Hardway) and Grischa Ludwig of Germany are a close second with a 219. The duo stands first in the Level 2 Limited Open and Level 3 Intermediate Open Divisions for owner Roy DeBruin.
